Not only does it stink that the Eagles underachieved and missed the Playoffs, but now we are left to decide which team, and City they represent, we dislike more. For me, the answer is simple: NEW YORK!
The New England Patriots are seeking their 4th S*perB*wl (SB) victory since 2001. That was right around the time when Eagles’ Head Coach Andy Reid and Owner Jeffrey Lurie said they were looking forward to winning multiple SBs. 11 years later, and they’re still seeking their first. I’d say the rivalry between Philadelphia and Boston is somewhat friendly. But since they’re winning all the championships, the disdain for the folks up in Beantown has grown.
The New York Giants are seeking their 2nd SB victory in 5 years and 4th in Franchise history. Another tough pill to swallow to Philly fans, especially since this was the year many “experts” felt the Eagles had the talent to make it to the SB, while the Giants were, at best, predicted to battle for a Wild Card spot. While the Giants will remain my most hated team in the NFL (the Pittsburgh Steelers are a very close second), I will admit that I’ve grown to respect this year’s team over the last month or so, especially Quarterback Eli Manning. They’ve made the most of this opportunity and have capitalized on other team’s mistakes, but I don’t have the time or energy to go into all that now. I’ll leave the bitterness at the door.
At the end of the day, Philly fans will be forced to root for a team that represents a City we typically don’t care for from a sports perspective. While I won’t be thrilled if there is yet another parade in Boston, anything beats another parade in NYC. GO PATS!

I’ve lived in the Greater Philadelphia Region my entire life and have been watching/following sports since I was 5 years old! I have grown to love all that is Philly sports – Phillies, Flyers, Sixers, Eagles, Big 5, Army-Navy, etc. I love talking/chatting sports with those who like or hate the Philly teams. I tell it like it is, whether in favor of our Phillies or in favor of those DAMN YANKEES! 😀
