Hal, Here is a good soup recipe for you:
In large pot 1 to 2 lbs of stew meat,
One smoked linguica, if you can’t find it use smoked turkey kielbosa,
one bunch of collard greens,
three cans pinto beans put juice from beans into soup,
one large can diced tomatoes,
one small bottle dry red wine (optional),
3 bay leaves,
one or two large onions (depends on size),
allspice to taste (five cloves or to taste on ground),
ten beef bouillon cubes,
1/2 to 3/4 box elbow macaroni
water to fill pot 3/4 full.
Cut meat into small pieces, roll up about 5 leaves of greens and chop, roughly chop onions mix together, bring to a boil, turn down and simmer until meat is very tender toward end of cooking and 1/2 to 3/4 elbow macaroni (depending on size), taste and add salt if needed. (Wine boils out alcohol in cooking. – optional.)
