*By the way, April 22 is National Jelly Bean Day.

*An unknown American candy- maker invented jelly Beans in the 1860’s.

*Oddly enough, it wasn’t until 1976 that the original eight flavors were introduced.

*They were Very Cherry, Root Beer, Cream Soda, Tangerine, Green Apple, Lemon, Licorice and Grape.

*Very Cherry has been the most popular flavor until 1998,

when Buttered Popcorn took over. YUM. Very Cherry became the favorite again in 2003.

*Almost 15 million jellybeans are sold during Easter. Enough to circle the Earth more than 5 times.

*President Reagan has a Jelly Bean Portrait.

*The name “Jelly Belly” came from 1920’s Blues singer Lead belly.

*Blueberry Jelly beans were invented for President Ronald Reagan’s inauguration in 1981 so that red, white and blue jelly beans could be served. Three tons of the Jelly Beans were consumed during the event.

*Regan quit smoking in the 1960’s and took up Jelly Bean eating.

clip_image015*Reagan had a holder designed for Air-Force One so the beans wouldn’t spill in flight. This is where our tax money goes,

*President Reagan sent Jelly Beans to space on the 1983 Space Shuttle Challenger.

*United States candy companies produce 16 billion Jelly Beans a year.

*The Jelly Belly Jelly bean maker produces 50 flavors.

Jelly Belly makes a 1.6oz. box of Jelly Belly BeanBoozled flavor pairings. Actually they are really lucky names for some of their regular flavors. Here they are:

Booger – Juicy Pear

Canned Dog Food – Chocolate Pudding

Skunk Spray – Licorice

Rotten Egg – Buttered Popcorn

Centipede – Strawberry Jam

Baby Wipes – Coconut

Barf – Peach

Moldy Cheese – Caramel Corn

Pencil Shavings – Top Banana

Toothpaste – Berry Blue

    Hi,

I just wanted to let you know that your information on JellyBellly BeanBoozled is incorrect. BeanBoozled is actually a game/publicity stunt from JellyBelly where they have created a group of ‘gross’ flavoured beans and paired each ‘gross’ flavour up with an identical ‘regular’ flavour from their existing repertoire. One is supposed to make a game with one’s friends out of picking out a bean and trying to determine if one has the ‘gross’ one or the ‘regular’ one, a sort of taste-based Russian Roulette, if you will. They have even created a sort of ‘game board’ for this product, consisting of a small open-topped box to hold the beans and spinner that one is supposed to spin to indicate which flavour pairing one should choose to gamble on. I suppose the minds at Jelly Belly who conceived this flavour figured that they needed to give players incentive to eat the ‘Baby Wipe’ or ‘Skunk Spray’ flavours… Anyway, I just thought you would like to know that the information you posted was inaccurate! By the way, I really enjoyed reading your Jelly Bean article! Have a good one!

Hello great blog! Does running a blog like this require a great deal of work? I’ve very little expertise in coding but I was hoping to start my own blog in the near future. Anyhow, should you have any recommendations or techniques for new blog owners please share. I know this is off subject but I just wanted to ask. Thanks a lot!
