I met a couple last year, I met them separate of one another. I heard from mutual friends, of Robin’s son Jake, Jake died in a terrible skiing accident. He was so young, working on his Eagle Scout projects with his whole life ahead of him. And then, while doing what he is said to have loved best, he hits an object on the slope and was gone in an instant. Then I met Rich through another channel and we began talking and he tells me the same story. Wow, this was strange and it was so identical a story it had to be the same young man from the same loving family. And it was! Devastating, and permanent, shocking and non-reversible, sad and sudden. Nothing could change it or be done to fix the outcome. How do we go on and make things whole again. You can’t really, but what you can do is do things to make sense of it and maybe a significant thing to honor the memory and life of the person you had taken from you!
This is what my friends, Robin and Rich have done! This is the second year of an event called JAKESTOCK, which celebrates the life of their son Jake and the things he loved to do and the people he loved. This is the second year of JAKESTOCK! I know I said it was the second year of event twice, the point is to keep doing good in Jake’s name! JAKESTOCK is a fundraiser to benefit the Jake R. Revere Memorial Scholarship Fund and Jake R. Revere Foundation! All the information you need to know to attend is below. It will be a great day, and we all hope to see you there at this celebration of life!
