The Moment

I imagine the moment
the way the buildings would look
maybe brick
with a history of faded color and chipped appeal
people walking by
their lives running cocurrently with mine
but mine alive with change
with pride
with peace
debri flying with the gusts of the wind
bouncing off the currents of cars and voices
in a pattern
I am suddenly in tune with
a sequence
I have longed for
through the pain
the frustration
the shame, guilt & regret
miraculously creating
the life
that wakes me in the morning
without the prying effort
reaplced by immediate gratitude

I imagine the moment
without a direction
without faith that it is deserved
with the cloudiness of the present
blocking the horizon
without being able to see ahead
too fearful
too jaded
to take a step
