Poem: On a Warm Day

on a warm day

On a Warm Day

A car comes to a halt at three way stop signs on, a one way street

The girls cross

A butterfly flutters by a butterfly bush in a back yard, ignoring it

A hummingbird buzzes in to inspect and sip a flower, on a trumpet vine

On a warm day

 •

On a warm day

The fish swim deep

A puddle dries up

Pollen makes my throat dry and I cough

On a warm day

On a warm day

A breeze catches a jib sail and turns a vessel around

A rudder being unattended, direction changes easily

A gull soars overhead, questioning everything

On a warm day
