Once upon a time, a long time ago, in the town of Princeton, a friend told me there was no engine additive that would fix the inside of my cars engine. This is true! However there are two, count `em , 2 engine additives that I use, recommend and suggest for your automobiles – and yes, I use them in mine. too! OK, now, I am not trying to fix anything in the engine. But, with the first one, Restore, I am trying to get it to run with more pep and the second Slick 50 is a super lubricant that replaces on quart of oil and really is a super lubricant and is very cleaning.
I am not a motor head and I am not going to give specific engine details and quote studies here, but, let me tell you my experience with these products:
Restore, comes in a can and is blue! I have used it many times in my older cars and new ones. I originally heard about this product on NPR’s Car Talk with Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers. It was recommended by them, so, I decided a long time a go to try it. It comes in different size cans based on the size of your engine. I am sure it does lots of good things but when I use it my car seems more peppy and that is good enough for me. I love my car and “The Blue Chariot” is worth some extra lovin’, by adding Restore every now and again.
Slick 50, is a bit pricy, $ 17.00 for the quart! It is good stuff though! I used it a bunch of years ago in my little Mazda Pickup Truck and when I brought it into the dealers for a timing belt service, they said “what did you put in this engine, it is the cleanest engine we have ever seen!” Slick 50 was and is the answer. I don’t use it every oil change, only once every few. I just added it to my engine in my last oil change at my buddy Kenny’s shop and his mechanic said “That stuff is great!” And Kenny said, “wow, you are going to use Slick 50, it’s good stuff!” Neither heard the other praise the Slick 50! These are good enough reasons for me to continue to use the product!
So there you have `em, the only two additives that I suggest you put in your car. If you like your car that is. We all can use help every now and then and so can our cars! My car, “The Blue Chariot” is one of my best friends, she helps me alot! So good luck, happy motoring and be well!
