On the Brink of MADNESS: The Most Exciting 4 Weeks in Sports starts NOW!

The NCAA College Basketball Conference Championship Tournaments have already begun, with automatic bids to the NCAA Championship Tournament being dished out to the winners.  They’ll wind down this weekend, leading up to the Selection Show, which announces what teams will be headed to “The Dance”.  Next week, the Tournament starts!

I’ve been watching the NCAA Tournament since 1987. That year, Indiana, Coached by Bobby Knight, knocked off Syracuse in a thriller and I’ve been hooked ever since.  It’s by far the most exciting sporting event in American sports.  The drama, excitement, and memories last a lifetime.  There was Christian Laettner hitting a shot at the buzzer sending Duke to the 1992 Final Four and Kentucky back to the Bluegrass State in the greatest game I’ve ever seen.  There was Princeton stunning the defending National Champion UCLA Bruins in the 1st Round in 1995.  There was Kentucky getting their revenge vs. Duke in the 1998 Regional Final.  There was Illinois rallying from a 15-point deficit vs. Arizona in the final 4 minutes of regulation in a frenzied Rosemont Horizon in the 2005 Regional Final.  There was Butler, a small school in Indiana, taking perennial powerhouse Duke to the limit in last year’s Championship game and I can go on and on and on and on…

I’d recall skipping school a couple times to catch the 1st day of coverage. Nowadays, break rooms are filled and games are being streamed online.  The Tournament truly captures the Nation year in and year out.

So make sure you get your brackets filled out before the Tournament beings and be a part of THE MADNESS!  GOOD LUCK!

I’ve lived in the Greater Philadelphia Region my entire life and have been watching/following sports since I was 5 years old!  I have grown to love all that is Philly sports – Phillies, Flyers, Sixers, Eagles, Big 5, Army-Navy, etc.  I love talking/chatting sports with those who like or hate the Philly teams.  I tell it like it is, whether in favor of our Phillies or in favor of those DAMN YANKEES!  😀
